This paper was assigned for my English literature class. I was prompted to compare a prominent aspect in two of the books we read that semester and I chose to do a comparison of class dynamic in Aphra Behn’s Oroonoko and Emily Brontë’s Wuthering Heights. I found this to be a useful comparison because it encouraged me to explore how some very different characters were shaped by their social backgrounds.

I decided to include this in Inquiry & Intellectual Growth because it is a paper that was written for my discipline but it also touches upon important issues concerning diversity and rights to education. It is important to be able to reflect upon what we find in novels and apply it to every day life.

With every paper I finish, I grow as a writer. My knowledge in my area of discipline grows as well. This paper shows me writing at the height of my form and is one that I am very proud of. My knowledge of English literature and my skills as a writer are reflected in this paper. It takes a great deal of work to be able to read, analyze, and apply. This is part of what I will be doing as a teacher and it is something that I have become very good at through lots of practice.
